Fixed Asset profit and loss posting

(0) ShareShare

I am selling a FA at loss. When I am creating sale transaction (Using free text invoice or journal) system is posting all the transactions including transaction type profit and loss. But when I see the voucher there is no posting with amount equal to profit and loss. Apparently there is no configuration to select ledger for PNL posting. My observation is that system balances the PNL using difference between Net book value, sale value and depreciation but does not actually posts it and leaves it to the user to manage through tagging of accounts.

Please confirm if above deduction is correct.

    Hi Vaibhav Sangave,

Depending on the way how your fixed asset posting profiles are configurated, you can have the profit or loss from the sale of the fixed asset posted on separate accounts. This requires some specific setup in the disposal-sales form and a lot of testing but it can be achieved in the standard application.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Okay. On screen you can see transaction type profit and loss along with profit/ loss amount but system is not providing specific set up to post that in ledger directly. So I was wondering if I am missing something.

    Apparently I am not :)

    Thanks for clarification !!!

    Hi Vaibhav Sangave,

The only thing missing is the setup of the right accounts and depending on how you want to have your postings created. This might take a little while to do but I am sure you will make it :-)

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks Dr. Ludwig !! Its little complicated but I believe it provides more flexibility. I am sure I am close to achieve the required set up though !!!
