Adding AD Groups to CRM..?

Hi

We have two AD's and have the Application in AD1 and the Users in AD2 and a trust exists in both. For management ease we wants to create groups and add users to Groups for access and roles in CRM but am told this is not possible? I've been told that we can only add and lookup users to add in CRM. Is this true?

Why the limitation?

There is no such thing as "CRM Security Groups".  There are Teams and there are Business Units, but they are both fundamentally different and more functional than AD Groups, because of what CRM does.

Simply put, AD groups and CRM generally shouldn't match 1-1, and there's no reason to assume they should be the same.

But would they always be unlinked? Like I couldn't add AD groups to the CRM security groups right?

This is true.  CRM does not recognize AD groups, as it has its own security structure.  However, you can make Teams or Business Units that match your AD groups and relate the CRM users to their relevant team/BU.
