hello

I am using a workflow to create a new case that is an exactly replica of the original case

so I have a step that creates the new record

I must then update original record to link to the new case

I have a lookup that does this but the original links to itself and not the new case

how do I do this via a update step

again I use a workflow to create a duplicate of the case I then I create a step to update case but I need to link the new case to the original

how do I do this

in my update step I scrolled to the bottom under related entities to the process section and found the create case step and added that to the lookup field  and that worked perfectly

    thank you

    Hi

So when you create the workflow you have the option to populate the new case with "Originating Case" this will then allow you to add a Subgrid to the parent for related cases

so create case and update case should be in the same stage

    Hi,

add an update step for the original case, then select that lookup field, then, on the right side(where you need to select where the field will be populated from) scroll down all the way to the bottom - there will be something corresponding to the name of the create step. That'll be your new case, so select that, then "case" field, and put it int othe lookup..
