Prerequisite check: WSDL URI not accessible (port missing)

Hello,

I have to reinstall the Enterprise search component to resolve some issues with it. In principle no problem, the first installation was no problem. However I now get an error at the prerequisite check:

Performing a service status check for prerequisite 'Application Object Server (AOS) Services WSDL URI accessible'. - Check failed.

When I click on the "Error"-link I get the message "Resolution: Attempt to access the WSDL port manually by entering the URI http://<SERVER>:/DynamicsAx/Services/MetadataService. ..."

The reason obviously is that the port (8101) is missing in the URI the prerequisite checker is trying to access. If I enter the URI  http://<SERVER>:8101/DynamicsAx/Services/MetadataService in the browser it works without problem... Where does the prerequisite check get the port to connect to from/what have I to change to get it working again?

Regards
Patrick

    Hello Patrick,

find the Registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dynamics\6.0\Configuration\Original (installed configuration) & SetupProperties and change the port number of the wdsl entry from empty or 2712 to 8101.

Restart server and you are good to install EP finally.

    Rgds,

    Alex

    Hello Axlexander,

It's been few days that i am stuck with somewhat a similar issue when trying to install Help Server, EP, Reporting Services components of AX 2012, the pre-requisite check failing with error:

    Prerequisiste:

Application Object Server (AOS) services  WSDL URI accesible

    Resolution:

Attempt to access the WSDL port manually by entering the URI http://<server>:8101/DynamicsAx/Services/MetadataService. If you cannot access the URI and the firewall is on, work with your network administrator to determine why the URI on the AOS server cannot be reached.

The URI mentioned above was accessible through a browser, and i have checked the firewall settings were "OFF".

As suggested, checked the registry settings and don't see any change that is required. [It is the same as u mentioned].

Any ideas where to look out or change anything to install the reporting services succesfully ??

May be you should install sql server 2012 shared features: Reporting Services - Sharepoint, Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products,  then restart the computer and try again.

Harshad, do you have more than one cliente configuration file?

Can you refresh the WCF configuration under the Connection tab from Client Configuration Utility?

The Rootcause of this issue is, you must have installed .NET Business Connector to resolve some 32/64 bit InstallPath issue.

and The Default Client configuration in this server point to blank WSDL port.

    To Fix this issue:

    1.Open Client configuration.

2.Create a new Configuration for AX and BusinessConnector. Ensure the WSDL port is set to the correct value [Default : 8101].

3.Perform Refresh Configuration to generate WCF Settings.

4.Exit the setup and run it again

I too am facing the same error, so I change the configuration and then when I click refresh, I get a new message saying

" An error while regenerating WCF configuration: Unable to connect to Microsoft Dynamics AX WCF Service, Ensure that AOS is fully started and that the requested WCF service is available. See Exception msg below for details: >Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'http://<server name>:8101/synamicsAX/Services/MetadataService"

    have anyone seen this?

Run a Full CIL compile and than try to refresh the WCF again.

I try to change Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dynamics\6.0\Configuration\Original (installed configuration) & SetupProperties to change wdsl port number, refresh the WCF configuration under the Connection tab from Client and BusinessConnector Configuration Utility, Full CIL compile,.... but i can't resolve it.

    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi Casimir

Don't touch registry keys. if you already did , you will have to restart the machine to see any changes taking effect.

You need to make sure the All AX Client Configs are configured with Correct WSDL port.

    a. Open AX Client Configuration from AOS Service Account.

    I. ControlPanel>>Administrative Tools>>Hold Shift & Right click on "Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Configuration">>Run as different user>>enter AOS Service account credentials

II. Ensure the WSDL port is specified in both Configuration Target : Local client & Business Connector

    b. Open AX Client Configuration from Business connector proxy Account.

    I. Same as Step a, with BCP domain credentials.

In either of step a or b one of the configurations, you will find a blank WSDL port, correct it if it is not original or create new configuration and enter 8101.

    Hi Surya,

I have reviewed AX Client Configuration for AOS Service Account and  Business connector proxy Account, in Local client & Business Connector as you comented and in every case  WSDL port is correct. therefore i can't resolved the problem.

Anyway I really appreciate your help.

    Regard,

    Casimir.
