Cross-company data sharing VendTable Main TABLE

Hi guys,

I am currently trying to configure the cross-data sharing for sharing reference and group data among the companies in Microsoft dynamics 365 for operations. I am trying to share the VendTable between several companies in the system but I get the following error message when I choose the VendTable " The Table VendTable is a MainTable as specefied by the table group and may not be shared". Can you work around this somehow. Thanks in advance.

This feature is included in Spring '18 application release. It's not supported in earlier releases.

So there is no way to share the vendor account across legal entities. I saw something about master data?

Pre-Spring 18 the answer is no.

Virtual companies was the former method but they pose some problems.

Import export is an option

MDM is also an option.

I would update to the Spring release.

Hello Steven,

I tried to share the VendTable in Update 20 which is latest version and Even now, the same error is thrown by system (" The Table VendTable is a MainTable as specefied by the table group and may not be shared") Any parameters available to share Maintable? Awaiting reply

I have not read anything telling me the functionality was released so I would believe it is still an unsupported scenario. What have you read that believes you should have been able to share it?

Hi Steven,

I was referring to the release notes of Spring 18 where Microsoft mentioned the availability of the vendor and customer sharing feature. Is it required to contact Microsoft for enabling the data sharing feature for Vendor and Customers? This feature is required for us now and I don't know how to enable data sharing for Vendor table through cross company data sharing option.

The feature must be activated for your D365FO subscription by Microsoft. You should contain your Solution Architect (if you are in the FastTrack program), or create a support request and ask for the activation.
