I am using the Ribbon Workbench solution and I am trying to add a button to the Opp form that when clicked will re-direct the User to the Field Service Schedule Board. Not sure how to configure the button so when clicked the user is redirected. Thank you in advance for your help.

Yadnyesh - Thank you for this. I was able to accomplish what I wanted. One small glitch and I am wondering if you know how to get around. When I click the "button" from the Opportunity record in Edge and Chrome, the page loads just fine that I am trying to open. From IE the page just gets stuck loading. Any ideas how to "fix" that?

    Hi Savvy Stacey,

In order to open an entity you can write a javascript and link the same java script to the button created using ribbon workbench. In the javascript you can use this code to open an entity of your choice:

    Xrm.Utility.openEntityForm("<Entity of your choice>");

Let me know if this solves your issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi Savvy,

Note: Use browser that supports Silver light i.e. Internet Explorer as Ribbon workbench uses Silver light.

Below are the steps to achieve your requirements:

    1. Create a solution.

    2. Add an opportunity entity in the solution.

    3. Go to Settings > Customization and click on Ribbon Workbench button. Open above created solution using Ribbon workbench.

    4. Select Opportunity Entity from ENTITIES section.

    5. From TOOLBOX section, drag Button to location where you want the button. In this case Form.

    6. From Solution Elements section, Right Click on Commands and add new. Expand commands section and select command you just created.

    7. On right side, select click on Actions (Lookup symbol). In popup, click on Add & select Open Url Action. In URL Command, put web resource URL of Field Service Schedule Board web resource. Click OK.

    8. From Solution Elements section, expand Buttons and select Button you just created above. On right side, select command you just customized.

    9. On Top, Click on Publish. That's it.

Kindly check Suggested Answer checkbox if this resolves your question.

    Thanks,

    Yadnyesh Kuvalekar

You can assign the URL if it is static while creating a command for this button. If dynamic, run a javascript function which opens new window.
