Our company is required to adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI/DSS). We need to have the ability to encrypt personally identifiable information such as one's Social Security Number within the Dynamics GP database. Does Dynamics GP support encryption of data in certain fields? I understand that we can use SQL to encrypt the entire database but that doesn't help when administrators who have rights to view the contents of the database in general have the ability to select all on a given table and see this data. The data ought to be encrypted within the table itself AND only visible in an unencrypted form on the computers or logins of authorized persons. Has any 3rd party or Microsoft written something to accomplish this task? If not that is very sad.

Hello Christopher,
Our company is under the same security regulations. We also have Nodus eSSS add on and all our customer credit card information is encrypted, however that doesn't resolve the Employee SS# field. How did you ever resolve this issue? Thank you.
Data protection is terrible at many vendors. Encrypting data at rest does not protect anything from a DBA,or a read only user.
Have you looked at the solution from Nodus?
I added this as a suggestion for development because it doesn't seem possible currently.
