Is it possible to upgrade a reports.dic that was used with a GP10 sp2 database directly to GP2010 database?

I did have a sp5 machince that I hooked to the sp5 databases and was able to export out the reports and sucessfully import back into GP2010. For some reason the upgrade of reports.dic would never work but this did. Thank you very much for the suggestion, I would have otherwise had a big problem. Thanks again.
If you still have the older version of GP running and then depending on the reports you could try exporting them out to a package file and then import them into GP 2010. I know this is not the recommended way but if you have no choice, you have no choice. Another possibility is to simply copy your DYNAMICS.DIC file from GP 10 SP2 and your REPORTS.DIC file and just try the upgrade. You will point to the DYNAMICS.DIC file for GP 10 SP2. I am not sure if the service pack level is as important for the reports dictionary as it is for the database.
I think you need GP Sp4 and above. But try it it may work. Keep backup of reports.dic and give a shot.
Thanks

Thank you yes, I am aware of the using the utility to do that, my question had to do with the versions, because I only have the reports.dic from GP10sp2 not sp5 and I don't know if I need to have the one from sp5 first before going to GP2011. Do you know for sure if that matters or not?
Yes. it should upgrad through Dynamics GP utility. Goto GP Utility , click on Next until you see 'Additional Task Window 'Select Update modified forms and report' and then procees.
Let me know how it goes. You may need Dynamics.set file of GP10 not sure.
Thanks
