Mockup tool for non developers

Posted on by 55

Hi,

Is there any tool available which would allow a non-developing business consultant to create mockups of Business Central pages?

This could help in setting the requirements with the users and handing it over to the developers.

I've seen the simple object designer from hougaard which comes close. Looking a bit more photoshop  / drag & drop style.

Any ideas?

    hi

Yes, there are several tools available that allow non-developers to create mockups of Business Central pages. These tools are typically called "page designers" or "page builders".

One example of a page designer is the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Page Designer, which is included in the standard Business Central license. With the Page Designer, you can create new pages or modify existing ones using a drag-and-drop interface. You can add fields, tables, and other elements to the page, as well as define the layout and formatting.

Another tool is the Simplanova Page Builder, which is a third-party extension for Business Central. This tool allows you to create new pages or modify existing ones using a visual editor, similar to how you would create a website using a content management system. You can also import/export pages and share them with other users.

There are also several other third-party page builders available for Business Central, such as the Jet Reports Page Builder and the Prism page builder.

It's always best to evaluate these tools to see which one fits your requirements best.

Such a drag/drop tool used to be available for creating Forms in NAV 2009 (Gone are those days!)

The simple object designed is what I think you can come as close to designing pages as it can get. To find other similar tools, App Source is the place to search
