how to change the default company in EP

Hi,

Does anyone know where is the setup for the default company in Enterprise Portal?

My user is in active directory and defaulted to the right company, but when I open EP it is opening with DAT.

Where is this set up?

AX2012 R3

    Hi Veronika, there are two places to specify the startup company: user parameters (Tools -> Options) and the AX client / Business Connector configuration. Have you checked both? Which are you referring to when you wrote "defaulted to right company"?

    You have to make sure first the company is setup properly in your User's settings go to Tools->Options and set your Start Company Accounts), and then make sure the EP in not company independent and partition independent (check this in Administration->Setup->EP->Web Sites, General Tab).

    Hi,

    the Start company is set to what it should <WL>.

    But your second point there can be good...

    I checked the Web Sites setup and both points are checked to be independent.

    I don't know what this setup means.. though

    It is ok to be set as independent. It will pick up the user's company. Are you able to change the company in EP using the company lookup?

    So it is suppose to be independent? I'm confused.

    And yes, i can change the company in EP. But its like if my AX would always open in DAT. Its not very productif.

    I actually tested it. And if i uncheck the independency for partition and company then i do not have the choice anymore to switch the company from EP.

    Oh well, will keep looking.

    Hi Anton,

    What do you mean by 'AX client / Business Connector configuration'? where should i check?

    And by right company, i meant our default comapny WL and not DAT. WL is setup to be my starting company in AX.

    One more place you can look for is in the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Configuration application, you have to choose in the Configuration target drop down Business connector and see if you have anything set in Company here - it should be empty, but just another place to check.

    Also, you could check your User's Profile: in the System Administration in AX, just open Users, select your user, make sure the company is the proper one, and them in the Info Part that says Profiles for selected user look and see if you have any profile set for a specific company.

    Hi Veronika,

    If the user setup looks correct, you can also have a look at the URL this user is using.

    If the URL contains a section '&WCMP=dat' it will use the dat company as it assumes this overwrites any default.

    e.g.  portal.contoso.com/Enterprise%20Portal/default.aspx?&WDPK=initial&WCMP=dat

    Then use the URL without any additional parameters afther the question mark or change/remove the company parameter.

    Hi André,

    What you are saying is exactly right! In the URL i can see that it is redirected to DAT. Probably the shorcut was made inproperly.

    Here is the URL my user is using:

    ax-eptest/.../default.aspx;WDPK=initial&WMI=EPPersonalInformation&redirected=1&WCMP=DAT&WMI=EPPersonalInformation

    When i delete everything unnecessary from the URL adresse, it works.
