I am trying to close Inventory periods, but we have open Item Ledger Entries.
These open entries were created before we knew we had to manually apply entries when we did inventory adjustments with item journal entries.
We have quantity 2 in inventory now, which matches the system. I have tried using the Application Worksheet to apply the open entries as instructed:
To apply an available open item ledger entry to another entry, select the item ledger entry that you want to apply. Choose the Unapplied Entries action. The View Applied Entries – Unapplied Entries window opens.
Select one or more item ledger entries that you want to apply to the entry selected in the Application Worksheet window, and then choose the OK button.
However, there are no Unapplied Entries to select.
Ideally, I want to apply the three open sale entries from 7/7/21, 9/1/21 and 10/5/21 to the open purchase entries from 8/1/22, 8/17/22 and 9/8/22. I understand that the system sees the sale before the purchase and that doesn't make sense.
How do I apply the entries from 7/7/21, 9/1/21 and 10/5/21 so that I can close those inventory periods? I've seen in another post that you cannot manually apply item ledger entries. If this is the case, how can these be applied?
