Transportation - Load dates

I am trying to find more information about the dates on the loads. Can anyone point me to the right places please? I need to know the differences in dates on the loads header (scheduled load shipping, load arival, eta, requested sail date, load shipped confirmation and mostly the cut off date. I am trying to understand what is updated automatically and when. Our client wants to be able to update accordingly when there is a delay in shipping and if so do the po dates get updated/synced? A second query, can I set the arrival date to default to scheduled load shipping +x no of days? Thank you

    Hi Kar_Gilson,

The dates on the loads are for the reference purposes and have links to the shipping industry in general and are not syncing and data back to purchase order.

The definitions for the dates are

Scheduled load shipping date and time - This is the date when the load is scheduled to be shipped as per plan.

Load arrival date and time - This is the date when the load is scheduled to arrive at the destination

ETA -  commonly used to denote the date and time at which a ship or the carrier is expected to arrive at the destination port. Usually used shipping industry schedules circulated by shipping lines or information provided to the port of destination.

Required sail date and time - This is the date and time when the ship actually planned to start sailing in sea. This is different from the container loading date as actual sail happens after the loading date. So container is loaded on 11th Jan and ship was supposed to sail on 14th Jan.

So 14th Jan is the required sail date and time.

Sail UTC date and time - This is the actual time when ship started sailing. this can be different from the required sail date and time and is used for performance monitoring of carrier.

Cutoff date and time - This is the last date or time at which containers will be received for a particular vessel or aircraft and cut-Off Time - The latest time cargo may be delivered to a terminal for loading to a scheduled train or ship.

Containers received after cutoff date are not loaded on the ship or the aircraft. Its the most import date for the shipping industry as its the deadline.

Load shipped confirmation date and time - This is the date when load was actually shipped. This is same as sail UTC date and time but is used for road and air carriers.

Most of the fields are for reference purposes for export/import industry as these dates are very critical for the shipping industry in general.

However nothing is updated on its own and nothing is synced back to purchase order.

Only ETA and scheduled load shipping date and time are defaulted from PO and can be changed.

We did a change in AX for our client where ETA was updated to the purchase order so that procurement team gets the latest date and also MRP is accurate.

"...Our client wants to be able to update accordingly when there is a delay in shipping..."

    Update where? (Load/shipment/order)

Update manually, or it Comes from somewhere? (an Interface, for instance)

"..can I set the arrival date to default to scheduled load shipping +x no of days?.."

with a simple Piece of Code, Yes, provided x is defined somewhere (order/Parameter, etc.)
