I have had the same question as Søren Christensen, I have managed to create a structure of branches, the problem is to map one branch of another, how could you do not create the directory system that creates the new branch? so that my package directory is not affected, when interpreting the new branch as a new package that conflicts with the models of the first package

It looks like a very different question; I think I'll split the thread as soon as I understand the new topic (and therefore I'm able to set a meaningful title).

Can you please elaborate your problem? For instance, what do you mean by "the directory system that creates the new branch"? Branches are created by yourself, not by a directory system.

The last sentence suggests that you're trying to use the same package folder for another branch, but then you shouldn't be surprised that the folder is affected. Please explain what conflicts you're talking about.

The picture shows that your packages folder is invalid - it doesn't contain standard packages such as ApplicationPlatform, for instance. Either you're using a wrong folder, or all the crucial files got deleted. Unfortunately you didn't tell us what you did, so I can't provide any comment until you tell us more.

    Hi Martin

Do you have any hints to my orig. question re. branching when adding a new PU?

We need to maintain a developing branch for each PU for our ISV solutions.

How to? What to think about? Do we need a VM for each PU...?

    Hi Søren Christensen,
If you want to have a branch per PU then you need a VM for each branch. I don't see much value in it, because PUs are backwards compatible and same code should work on multiple PUs

    Hi Ievgen

Yes I understand that PM can be backwards compatible but lets say we in our PU12 version of our product are using a new PU12 feature then this will not compile/work for customers on PU11.

Yep, that's why we have one branch per application release and never install PUs, because they do not have any new functionality we can use. So customer can install our code on any PU.
