Please, Is there a way of adding products inline in the sub-grid just like how we perform inline edit of the subgrids? Instead of adding the record using the "+ Add record" button, can we just click on the subgrid and add records directly? OOB its not there? any ideas of achieving this using simple customization?
any idea if MS has plans of this feature in future and when?

This is not possible.
But if you create N:N relationship with product then it can happen.
Please do it as per your business requirement.
Yes, Thats exactly what I am intending for. The customer wants to add the product without opening a new form or quick create form? The requirement is click on the subgrid and add line item directly
