Does the Licensing cost kick in before Go-Live or After ? Or is it not that straightforward ?

Hi

For a typical MS Dynamics/Azure DW implementation, at what point in time does the licensing fee kick in ?
  • After Go-Live in the PRD instance ? OR
  • Before Go-live ? If so, when does the licensing start and for which environments?
  • Just Before Go-live during Cutover ?

    Dynamics 365 clients need fully license ready in the beginning when they start project.  Once official license is ordered,  D365 subscription will be put under client's Azure tenant.  After that,  LCS project will be created for client,  they will have 3 environments (PROD, Test, Development).

    Generally,  license is pre-requisitions to start everything in D365F&O

    Hi Ambar Patil,

    to be able to create an implementation project in LCS you have to subscribe the licenses before. You can find some more details here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/imp-lifecycle/onboard

    there is also a minimum number of licenses defines you have to purchase. If I‘m not wrong it is 20 of full users (Plan user) seats you have to by as minimum. But to be check in licensing guid if you need it in detail or you ask your implementation partner.
