Is it possible to view G/L entries with Dimension values rather than dimension codes and can we print the Dimension descriptions in all finance transaction reports ??
You will need to customize it. One of the practice is to use a self-descriptive code (instead of number only), so user will know what it is without looking at the description.
Self-descriptive is good, but if you have any groupings on your dimensions to summary lines (like in the chart of accounts), you may also need to include a numbering sequence at the end. We found we couldn't total dimensions together easily without them.
You can use a combination of numbering and self-descriptive code.
Thanks for reply....Guess it is too late for us as we are done with setup and we went live.
Will check with vendor if it is possible to redo dimensions after the postings happened
You can rename your dimension code. All related entries will be renamed as well. It is not too late.
