    1-From CRM Deployment Manager

    2-Disable the organization.

3-Select Edit Organization and change the Display name to <NewName>.

    4-Delete the organization.

    5-From SQL Server Management Studio

6-To prevent the database being locked, take the organization datbase offline (Tasks –> 7-Take offline) then bring it back online (Tasks –> Bring online).

8-Rename the database to the new name Newname_MSCRM.

    9-From CRM Deployment Manager

10-Choose import organization and select the newly renamed database. Follow the wizard and your done!

    HI,

Let me know only the steps to change database name, do I have to delete the organization.    Is there any other to change this by editing configuration file and registry.

    3. Bring DB off line then on line

    4. Rename database name

    5. Import organization with new database name

But it give the following error when login

Try to reset IIS, then browse the imported organization from deployment manager

    Hi,

I did reset IIS.  I Can browse from deployment manger so the path is with full organization name as like http://crm/SevenSeasComput where SevenSeasComput is organization name.   but I was able to login with db name before so the link will be http:/crm/ssc1  where SSC1 is the db name change to SSC2  but I am getting error as mentioned in above mail when login with this link  http:/crm/ss2  where ss2 is new name or rename of db ssc1

you can login by organization name not DB  name,  If the DB is called XXX and the organization name is YYY then the CRM link will be  http://crm/YYY not  http://crm/XXX

    You can try below steps
    1.       Disable and delete the organization which you want to change the DB name.
    2.       Take database backup of current database.
    3.       Restore DB backup with different name.(Change the mdf and ldf file name)
    4.       From Deployment manager use Import organization and select new restore database.
    5.       After successfully import you will able to access the CRM.

    Thanks!
