Using Wildcards on a ROI Screen Select Tab is not working on SL 2011

After upgraded a client from SL 7.0 FP1 to SL 2011, I found all the their templates that are using wildcards are not working. This is for SL standard reports, we are not even talking about Custom reports.

Whether you are using question marks (?) for single character or asterisks (*) is not working. It works fine when you use a complete value, but you combine value and wildcards does not work.

Using SQL Profiler I could get the SQL Statement the report is executing, and when I ran it directly in SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) it return 0 records.

Is there something I have to do on the SQL side to recognize those wildcards?

Please help!

Johans

Is there an solution to this problem? After upgrading to SP3 all of our report templates with wildcards no longer work. Some have been able to be modified to work without them but we have some that cannot be changed without including records we don't want in the report.

I find the wildcards work properly with SL 2011 FP1 and above, what version of SL 2011 are you running?

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?  I have 2 customers having the same issue.  The contain operator does not work if you want to return only accounts ending in 14 as that would also return 1450 or 2145.  The ? wildcard no longer works as account EQUAL ??14.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We had thyis problem too when we went from 7 to SL 2011 FP1. Here is an example from our issue files back then:

Yes you can use ? now to replace _ to specify a certain number of characters to wildcard.   For example, the following would select 090 office.

    GL_Subacct                                     EQUAL     ???090*

    GL_Subacct                                     EQUAL     ???090%

    Hi

You can use the Operator as "Contains" instead of using wild card characters in Value

For Example: If we want to generate the Inventory Items report with the Inventory description "Crank" then

Just select the Field as "Inventory.Descr", and Operator as Contains" and Value as "Crank". No need to specify "%Crank%".

    Hope this helps

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Johans,

    I find the same issue.

We may be able to come up with criteria that would get you the selection you need. Give me more specific selection parameters that you are working with and the report number.
