How to edit the UI layout of Dynamic CRM 2016?

Hi, I am learning CRM from some tutorial video and found that they are using CRM 2016 with different layout UI, the look and feel is better.

Basically, each area in each form has been greyed out at the background, the version I am using is white on the background. My question is that how to edit and change the background color as the tutorial shows?

Just note that themes will allow you to change some of the headers, fonts, etc. but not the actual CRM form/background colours (at this time).  Also be careful with some of the CSS techniques in some of the articles as these are unsupported customizations.

But I agree, the ability to modify the form layout colours would be great.  I feel like my CRM forms are sometimes caught in a blizzard!

    Hello Peter,

You can check a functionality called themes which will help you in designing or changing the form color and layout.

    Check the following links:

    I hope it helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi Nick,

Thanks a lot, I think you understood my question. Yes, that makes scenes,  actually, I saw t from CRM learning portal, and I can see on the top of the form, there is "Preview" on top of form. OK, if that is the case, I think it is using beta version.

But I heard the instructor said he was using CRM 2016, and I am also using CRM 2016. so I guess we are using different version even though it is the same year 2016. I will keep looking when it is available. I can not wait that day since it is really a wonderful feature for the CRM UI, I think CRM should make a customizable from theme of setting area to allow user to switch back to this layout feature.

I think I know what you mean, I believe that this was a beta or pre-release version of Dynamics CRM/365 used for these videos.  I agree it would be a great feature, there is an entry on the ideas site, please vote for it!

I was trying to attach the screenshot, but I can not make the screenshot attached.

I was trying to change the background color of each section of form. It seems I am using the default set up, all back ground color is white, and from the tutorial, each section for example, Details, Activities, Contact are all grey color, only data fields are white.

I was trying to find from Setting/Customization/Themes, I can see the CRM Default Theme there, and if I open it, I can not find Background color there,  I even can not edit any color, any idea?

I am not seeing any screen shot. Are you trying to change the color of a field?
