Install RMS Store Operations on new computer

One of our computers died and we need to install RMS Store operations on it. We currently have RMS SO version 2.0.2014. What files do we need to install to get it working? I installed our original 2.0, Cumulative update 5 and Hotfix 52. Unfortunately I get Run-time error 429 when I try to start RMS Administrator to start the program. I need help in what is required to get it up and running on our new machine that has Windows 10.

    Hi

What is the link to SQL Backwards Compatiability? Is this 32 or 64 bit?

RE: Install RMS Store Operations on new computer

    Hello Jane,

    Thank you for your question.

I have found, in previous issues such as this, that these steps will resolve this issue:

    1. Right-click the setup.exe program from the RMS install media and select “Run as Administrator”

    2. Select the option to remove RMS.

      1. When prompted, select the option to also delete registry keys.

    3. In the Windows Control Panel, go into ‘Programs and Features’.

    4. Uninstall ALL SQL programs present.

    5. Rename the Microsoft Retail Management System folder in C:\Program Files (x86) by adding ‘- old’ to the end of the file name.

    6. Reboot the computer.

    7. Log into Windows with the named Administrator account

    8. Right-click the setup.exe program from the RMS install media.

    9. When prompted, install SQL 2005 from the media and select “Run as Administrator”

    10. Install RMS 2.0 normally.

    11. Install all RMS updates in order (SP1, SP2, SP3, FP1, SP4, FP2, CU5) by running the .exe file as an Administrator, do not skip straight to CU5.

If that does not work, I would recommend contacting the message center at 1-888-477-7877 to open a service request for this issue.

    Thank you,
