Italian Localization - eInvoice for purchases made from non-resident suppliers

According to the Law no. 178/2020, published on 30/12/2020, which amended article 1, paragraph 3-bis, Legislative Decree no. 127/2015, starting from 1 January 2022, it will be mandatory to transmit to the Interchange data System of the Italian tax authorities
(“SdI”) also the transactions made with non-resident counterparties.

As per the sale invoices, the data related to purchases of goods and services received from non-resident/non-established suppliers must be transmitted electronically to the SdI.

For this purpose, the Italian taxable person will be required to convert the data of the integration document/self-invoice into .XML format and transmit the file to the SdI within the fifteenth day of the month following the one in which the purchase invoice has been received (in the case of suppliers established in the European Union) or in which the transaction has been carried out (in the case of suppliers established outside the European Union).

To fulfill this legal requirement, the Italian localization for MS Dynamics NAV needs to be updated. I work in a group that has an affiliated company in Italy and my colleagues are already putting some pressure due to this matter.

Does anyone know if this is done? Or if there is a deadline for this update?

    The following are all the regulatory features for Italy which were released for NAV2017 including the Cumulative Update (CU Release) number in which they were shipped:

    If you need any further details I would recommend opening a support ticket with Microsoft via your Solution Provider or Business Central Partner.

    Thank you for your reply.

    In fact, I’ve already looked into the cumulative releases for Italy, but it seems as if none of the recent updates concern purchase invoices and e-Invoicing. Last October, I opened a ticket with my NAV partner but still got no answers.  

    Have to wait!

    Hi Helena,

    same issue here for Business Central.

    In clarification with our partner manager, waiting for an answer too!

    What we found is an external extension for this, but we think customer don´t have to pay for requirements of local tax authorities.

    Why else do we have the enhancement plan?

    The latest update on this matter is that it has been postponed to June 30, 2022. Our NAV partner briefed us and my Italian colleague confirmed.

    thanks for sharing this information!

    But what should we do until microsoft will provide a solution?

    Is there any workaround? Will italian tax authorities also postpone there requirements ;)?
