Vendor disbursement journal workflow

Hello All, My current client wants only payments over a threshold should have to be approved, not the complete journal being over a threshold. Payments under that threashold can be auto approved. Is the above a standard functionality in R2? Also correct me if I am wrong – the workflow can be setup for whole journal but not at the line level. (If it is set at line level, does that mean, that each and every line needs to be approved 1 at a time?) Regards

Hi,

The workflows on journals are out of the box indeed only for the complete journal. It should be possible to create a condition that if the system finds at minimum one line above a certain amount, approval is needed, otherwise do an automatic approval.

If you extend the workflow, you can also create a line approval within a customization. Normally you have to approve every single line, but also with a certain condition you can have some automatic approval.

For a disbursement journal it is quite dangerous to check only lines with high amounts. What will happen if someone creates 100 lines with a smaller amount and then asks to leave a bit earlier as he finished his work..... and never comes back.... I heard this really happened.
