How do I activate the Modifier so I can change the width of something?

Assuming you have rights to report writer, go to Summary Inquiry Wndow and when you print the report, send it to the screen. Then when you click on Modify, this will bring you into Report Writer on this report. After you make your changes make sure you grant rights to use this modified version of the report.
You will need to contact you GP partner to help you get license from Microsoft

You need modifier for changing a window. In registration window, check on the Modifier if you have license for it. Alternatively, if you have Customization Site License your partner can make these changes for you.

You do not need modifier to do that, that is report writer. You simply go into the report and move that field slightly to the left. This is a common problem as different printers print differently.
EXAMPLE: When I go to look at the General Ledger Summary the very right hand number is cut off
You enter your registration keys but what do you mean about changing the width of something? Are you looking to actually make the width of an underlying data field wider?
