Posting date for the Partial invoice

Hi All,
 

The requirement is to set up today's date as the posting date for sales and purchase documents.

Our client is facing an issue when they do partial shipments to their customers. They create a sales order for the original quantity that their customer requests and ship & invoice the quantity available at the time of the order, with the remaining quantity delivered after manufacturing is completed.

The issue they are facing is that if they do not change the posting date before posting the second invoice, the invoice will post to whatever date the user added in the sales order.

Could you please let me know if there is a workaround to update today's date as the posting date for sales and purchasing documents without requiring customization?

    Posting date for the Partial invoice
    Typically this is part of a user's process to manually update the posting date to today's date prior to posting. Out of the box there is no functionality to automate this.

    Hi Ashan, 

    You can enable this setup in sales & recivables setup for the posting date as same as work date 
    • If you enable this system will automatically update the posting date as work date when ever the orders are created. but this will not work as in for your Partial shipment posting scenarios, 
    • If you have set of users only posting sales orders you can configure user setup allow posting date today, but this need to monitored and updated daily. 
    Customization will be more easy to handle such scenarios in real time.
