Leasing assets - handling in Business Central

Hi

What are the possibilities for handling leasing asset contracts in Business Central?

We have alot of machinery which is leased, and theese contracts are now handled manually.

What i would like is BC to handle the calculation and booking of asset value, depreciations, amortization, interests etc. on all the leasing assets/leasing liability.

I read that D365 now have this possibility - but it seems that business central does not.

Anyone has any input ?

Thank you in advance.

    Mads,

To perform ASC842 and IFRS 16 accounting principles for Leased assets, in BC, you turn to an APP that I have used for my customers called:

    Soft4Leasing - https://soft4leasing.com/

    appsource.microsoft.com/.../pubid.soft4|aid.soft4_leasing|pappid.cb81b823-a2d2-4a8c-8cbb-229a853b689f

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hello,
Business Central can handle the fixed asset part (asset card, depreciation, FA journals), but it does not natively handle full lease accounting like lease liability, right-of-use asset, interest calculation, amortization schedules, or automatic lease postings; that capability is in Dynamics 365 Finance Asset Leasing, not standard BC. So in BC your realistic options are: keep using Fixed Assets + manual/Excel-based lease calculations and journals, buy an AppSource lease-accounting add-on (usually the best option if you have many leased machines), or build a custom solution if your process is very specific. For IFRS 16 / ASC 842 style lease handling, standard BC alone is usually not enough.

D365 Finance may have that feature but D365 Business Central does not. The other comments are correct, you need an application as an add-in or you would follow manual processes. It's highly recommended to work with a BC partner to install, setup and receive training on using one of those apps.
