Default a filter on a list

I have a list of customers that I only want to see where I am the sales person.  

So I create a filter but I want to make that filter the default filter when I come into the Customer List page.

I have tried personalisation with the filter selected when I say Done, I have also tried setting up a Role Filter on the customise page layout in Profiles.  All other changes save but the filter always returns to the default 'ALL' filter when I go to the list.

Is there a way to get my custom filter to be the default one, either for me or the Profile (role) I am in.

    Thanks for the link, it does seem to imply it can be done, although it's not supported :-(

    I have the same case and suffered finding a way. 

    It should be through the record-level security, but even if I applied what is in MS Docs, you have no result.

    Thank you, I have tried that but it returns to the system 'ALL' filter when I go back into the window.

    Have a look at this: docs.microsoft.com/.../ui-views

    You will then have a view saved and I believe it remembers the last one you had set so no need to move back to the default.

    If this doesn’t work out for you then you could try getting a page customisation.
