HITB Reset Tool Errors

Hi,

 

We are running the HITB Reset Tool  and the validation report is showing an error when it encounters inventory items that are kits.  The Tool will not allow us to proceed without resolving the error. The error is:

 

"Item Type not "Sales/Invoice or Discontinued"

 

My questions are:  Is there some way to handle this without changing the Item Type?  Or do we have to remove the kits and recreate them after the tool runs?  Is it possible our kits were setup incorrectly in the first place?

    Thanks David!  Your answer makes perfect sense.  The team that implemented the SOP module had a lot of issues and it is very likely they performed some sort of "fix" at some point.  I am going to check the IV10200 table  for an open receipt layer.

    The issue here is likely that you have a Purchase Receipt layer for the item in question in the IV10200 table.  That item was likely once a Sales Inventory item before it was converted to a kit.  Only Sales Inventory and/or Discontinued items should have open receipt layers in IV10200, so the Reset Tool check is telling you that something is wrong.  

    Is it possible someone changed the Item Type from Sales Inventory to Kit via SQL update, thus ignoring the application that would have prevented you from making this change due to the presence of an open receipt layer for this item?

    Is it because GP does not track quantities for kits and only the components?  If so, does that mean we have to delete the kits and recreate them after the tool runs
