D365 not always performing translation according to current application language

I find D365 not always performing translation according to current application language.

The examples i am struggling with are "Project phase" on a Project and "Unit" on a project transaction.

When i run D365 in "swedish" the application overall is in swedish but items like "Project phase" and "Unit" is always shown in english.

For both "project phase" and "unit" it is possible to configure translated texts in different languages but they are not picked up when data is presented in forms.

Our customer is not very happy about this.

Is this just the way it is or am i missing something in the setup?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi partner,

If your company has already created your own label file and whether you have set up correct Label languages for them?

Translated texts for "Unit" are not handled through label-files. They are entered through the client.

About "project phase" i have now realized it is working fine when language is set through "user option". But when setting language by adding "&lng=sv" to the Browser-URL the "project phase" is not translated. But that is ok. The normal way to choose language is to do through "user options".

    Hi Magnus,

There are indeed various implementations how a language is determined. The labels will always look at the language set for the session. This is either the URL parameter if filled with the user options as fallback.

For data translations, the coding can ignore the URL parameter. I have seen this during the development of one of our ISV solutions. It is a design choice of the developer which option to use. I don't remember the full details, but keep in mind that there is an option to evaluate a session language or a user language.
