RE: Unable to view service logs

Are you seeing this error from within Dynamics GP application?

I ask as, usually this type of error is more commonly seen with Integration Manager and/or eConnect, regarding a permissions issue for the eConnect service account to be able to log and/or view logs in Event Viewer. It is attempting to throw an eConnect error to you, but you/users don't have permissions to see it.

To resolve this, you can do the following to adjust permissions:

      1. Open the Registry Editor by clicking on Start > Run, type in REGEDIT and click OK.

      2. Browse to the key >> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\

      3. Right-click on the EventLog key and select Permissions.

      4. Add the eConnect service account running the service, in the permissions.

You also have the option to set it to 'Everyone' as well, depending on what you want.

      5. Save changes and stop/restart the eConnect integration service.

      6. Run the IM/eConnect integration again for project employee expenses and see if it now shows the entire error and/or the Event Logs show more on why the integration is failing.

If this doesn't resolve this message, just as a test, for the following keys:

    -- ‘HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog’

    -- ‘HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Security’

    -- ‘HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\State’

.....add ‘Everyone’ to all three of these keys, with Full Control permissions, then stop and restart the eConnect service before testing this eConnect integration again. Does this ‘source not found’ message still show, change, or is it resolved?

    Thanks
