Hi,
Suddenly Apps listed on main page disappeared and were no longer visible for a user. We tried pressing the synchronize button, to no avail.
The user has system admin. rights.
Anyone with a tip for resolution?

I've tested in my environment, i keep swithing the roles, and called for synchronize button, it works like a charm. I would suggest you to
1. remove all the roles from the user, and give a dummy role .
2. Referesh the form and click the synchronize button.
3. give user the system admin role again.
4. Referesh the form and click the synchronize button.
if the issue still exist , I would suggest you to contact Microsoft Support in this case.

Hi, cache-cleaning didn't do the trick. I have the same security roles and access as the user in question, I can see the Apps as expected.

1. Maybe you can try clear the cache.
2. Make sure you app is published.
