GP2010 login macro

In GP2010, a login macro does not work if there is not an active desktop running on the machine.   We had an integration scheduled to run overnight in version 9.0.  After upgrading to version 2010, it stops at the GP login window unless a user is actively logged on.  It does not process the Moveto field macro command, even if there is a closed remote session running.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

    Re: GP2010 login macro

    Hi,

Do we need to keep session active to run schedule macros?

We have already recorded login steps with user id and password. The same macro trying to schedule but I have observed that it required user session to be active on server.

Not clear so anybody have come across such situation, please share it.

I have used Mariano Gomez steps to auto login in GP. dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.in/.../Macros

Any work around to this yet?  We are having the same issue.  Thanks.  This is very frustrating.

So i think I know why i was having problems with this macro running unattended and GP2010 is not the reason.  I gleaned some info from a post by "childofthe80s" in another forum.

The server was upgraded to Windows Server 2008 at the same time as well.  Apparently the Windows Task Scheduler in Windows Server 2008 will simply not run a GP macro automatically. This is because the Task Scheduler cannot be configured to interact with the desktop.

I have no idea what the solution to that issue is, but will update when I do.

Try using the recorded user ID/Password facility in 2010.  Login manually, set a user ID and password and tell the system to remember that user.  Then record your macro.

I did re-record and it works when i am logged in and watching it run.  But if no user is actively logged on to the machine, it stops on the userid field.  It does not process ANY macro command.

Try re-recording the macro.  There are additional fields on the login windows in 2010
