Send e-mail to custom attribute from a workflow

I need to send fax from CRM 4. For this purpose I did the following: 1. Set up a eFax.com account. With this service when you email to 1111111@efaxsend.com, the attached file or the text body of the email is sent as a fax to number 1111111. 2. Created a custom attribute in Accounts named new_efaxaddress of type email 3. Created a workflow when Account is created or fax attribute is changed, to update new_efaxaddress attribute with the value: fax + "@efaxsend.com" 4. Created a workflow to send e-mail. The problem is that I cannot enter the custom attribute new_efaxaddress to the "To: " field. The Dynamic Values list doesnot include this attribute. Could you suggest a workaround for this? A workflow plugin maybe?

    Hi,

A workflow plug-in would certainly do the work here.
A 'dirty' workaround would be using the Primary Contact attribute of the Account: set the fax email address into a Contact record email attribute and set the Contact as the Primary Contact for the required Account. As the Primary Contact is a valid value in the workflow email setup 'to' attribute, this will work.
If it was up to me, I would have gone with the plug-in solution.

    Hope this helps,

Thank you for your answer. After some researching I think that the best approach is:

My workflow to create a new Fax record.

    1. Using a workflow assembly send the appropriate email using system.net.mail. The worfklow should be triggered when a fax is created

    2. Or use a windows service to read the Faxes from CRM with status Open and then send the email to efax.com

    I would appriciate your opinions.
