Cannot close an Opportunity as Lost on CRM 2016 on-premise

Hi,

I have an issue where Close as Lost button on Opportunity form does not perform any action. Whereas, when I try  to click on Close as Lost form the View, the dialog to close the Opportunity appears correctly.

This behavior is across all browsers.

The issue I'm facing is CRM 2016 on-premise.

Kindly advise.

Oh! But that's actually strange if it needs a random field to be removed and then put back again. Any specific type of field we can narrow down to?

We had this same problem once, we had removed a field from the form and it stopped working, when we put the field back it worked fine. I just cant remember which field it was as it was a long time ago.

    Hello All,

Also, this is the case with both, Chrome and IE browser.

I'm not able to use Close as Lost on form but can use from View on IE.

And for Chrome, I can't use it from either places.

    Hi Priyesh,

I see behavior like this a lot if there's custom javascript on your form which is interfering with the out-of-the-box scripts. this will typically be caused by form load events, or logic that hides or disables buttons in the ribbon or on subgrids.

To test this, create a new opportunity form from scratch (don't copy from an existing one), and verify the button works. If it does, you know there's some difference between the two forms and you can go from there and add/remove customizations until you find the culprit. In the Opportunity form editor, click on Form Properties and disable any form events to see if that fixes it.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
