I am looking for help/advice on what should I be taking into consideration on a monthly basis or however frequently to ensure logs, data, workflows, etc...are cleaned up on a monthly basis.
What do other people do or recommend?

Beyond what Mohamed mentioned it really depends on what you specifically mean when you say "cleaned up" as there are multiple possible layers to that. If Mohamed's response didn't fully cover your particular meaning, please feel free to elaborate more and perhaps we can be of more help.
