Problems with routing settings

Posted on by 10

Hello together,

I am having trouble mapping out our process in a routing. I suspect it is due to resource settings.

The following example:

We want to represent a furnace process. We have a furnace that can hold 15 devices. We have 3 jobs, the first job about 24 devices, the second 3 devices and and the third 9 devices. All three orders should use the same routing. The furnace process takes 2 hours. So from the first order 15 devices are placed in the oven and preheated for two hours. After the two hours, one device at a time is removed and further processed. When 5 units have been further processed, the next 5 units can be placed in the oven for preheating.

I have set in the routing that one device generates 6.6% utilization. This works so far, the resource is 6.6% utilized. But I don't manage that the resource "oven" takes so many devices until the capacity is exhausted. It processes only one piece at a time. If I change the value at Process quantity, my run time is not correct afterwards. Also with transfer batch the behavior is strange. If I set 5 devices, it can still happen that the following process is combined, i.e. that it waits until 10 devices have received their 2 hours and then processes all of them. This does not fit in this case, because the devices have to be processed warm. Link type I have set the operations to "Hard".

Does anyone have a tip for me, at which setting the problem could arise?

Denis
