I am trying to figure out how to get report writer to sort a text field that has date entries in it. The field is the USCATVLS_1 field in inventory.
The SOP Blank Invoice form report when you sort by that field, is not coming out that way, because it is sorting numeric rather then by date,
So it will display the lines on the invoice with January 2014, January 2015, January 2016 before it even displays February, 2014 on the report.
I did not see any report writer date conversions, but they claim that at one point it did correctly sort by date until they upgraded to GP2015. I doubt that to be true, it may have just been a coincidence because I'm pretty sure Microsoft didn't change much between 2010 and 2015 in terms of the user defined fields in inventory, nor with how report writer treats text fields. :)
