Record limits for On Demand Workflow - CRM 8.2 (on prem)

Hi smart people

I have a client who recently upgraded from 8.1 to 8.2 and there is an issue with an on demand workflow triggered from a Business Process Flow. The workflow only works on 10 records at a time. I thought the out of the box limitation was at least 250 records and 3rd party solutions could increase this limit even further.

Has anyone encountered this before? Tips or resolutions?

    Hi Tanya,

    about 1st question - I'm using 3rd party utility: https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/ where you can find plugin: "Bulk workflow execution" and there is no limits for on demands workflow - you can choose some view for execute workflow on +250 records. I haven't reached any limits yet. 

    2nd question - Try to check "Process sessions" of your workflow - there you can see if it was really executed on 10 records or more and you get some errors. As i wrote i didn't get on any limits of maximum records but i'm on CRM 2016 8.0.1.79. More information about type of records can be helpfull.

    HI - yes i understand how on demand workflows work - my question is whether anyone has found that only a few records can be selected at a time instead of a large number. So I guess it is 2 questions:

    1. What is the max record count you can use for an on demand workflow?

    2. If the answer to above is 250, why won't mine run on more than 10 records at a time? Is this a bug?

    Hi,

    To run a workflow on demand, you need to select the records. So what records are you selecting. Please provide more details/ screenshot to assist you on this.

    Are you calling the workflow via code?  I'm curious how a Business Process Flow is triggering an on demand workflow.  Which record(s) does it know to pick?  Does it run across child records associated with the record you currently have up?
