The above solution worked for me as well, and after maximizing the window retained the last position. I believe it is an issue of transitioning a laptop to and from a dual-monitor docking station. For some reason the Smartlist gets stuck in the "void" and is never re-rendered by Windows.
Here is what worked for me. Prior to trying any of these tips, I tried to run Smartlist, did not see it open but I did see it running I Task Manager. I then applied these changes to the DEX.INI file
WindowMax=TRUE
NoteWindow=-123,-108,1366,719
WindowPosX=223
WindowPosY=16
WindowWidth=808
WindowHeight=768
After making these changes, Smarltist still not appear but this time when I hovered over it I got the options that Victoria mentioned and I was able to click Maximize. Smartlist would then open and then close and open again. In my case I think is was the WindowPosX, it was a negative 2. I think this made it open outside of the normal screen parameters. Hopefully this will help others.
I think Kirk is right - this sounds just like the problem he is having, it's not minimized, it's just not opening.
Does this occur when you use a different user on the same workstation? This is exactly what appears to be happening with my user but does not occur when I use a different user on the same workstation.

And therein lies the problem. Hovering over the GP icon or any other icon does not give me these options. SmartList is not open anywhere. I will try bringing over a DEX.INI file from a working computer. If you look at your GP icon notice how you see the multiple pages. I only have the one.
Hi Richard, I am on Windows 7, as well. Here is what I meant:
Hover over or click on the GP icon in the taskbar, here is what mine looks like when I do that:
Then right click on the SmartList window image and you should see the following menu:
Selecting Maximize should bring the SmartList window up.
Hi Richard,
Let me know what you find. This actually is starting to sound a lot like an issue I posted about recently and have yet to find a resolution for (short of recreating my user) community.dynamics.com/.../120847.aspx

Kirk, when I hover of the icon on the systray all I get is Pin to the Taskbar and Close. I will check on this line in the DEX.INI. Thanks.
Richard,
What Victoria is suggesting is hovering over the GP icon in the task bar, right clicking the smartlist window, and selecting maximize.
I am not sure which line in the dex is causing this but my first guesses would be the lines below.
WindowMax=TRUE
NoteWindow=-123,-108,1366,719
WindowPosX=223
WindowPosY=16
WindowWidth=808
WindowHeight=768
Best regards,
Kirk Livermont
This is a W7 computer so there is no Maximize option. I will copy the DEX.INI. Any idea which line in the DEX.INI is causing this?
