Closed recurring appointment still triggers outlook reminder

Dear Community.

I have a problem with recurring appointements. When i use the standard Outlook form for activities and create an recurring appointment and also set an reminder outlook still reminds me for the appointment even if i cancelled or closed it in crm. Even if a manually force synchronization between outlook and crm the problems occurs.

Does anyone have any tips.

    Hy Nizar,

    thank you very much for you anwser. Below is a screenshot from the recurring appointments in crm:

    If i for example set the first one to completed before the start time outlook still reminds me of the appointment.

    Below is a screenshot of outlook where you can still see all the upcoming appointments. I hope this anwsers your question.

    Delete manually all occurrences but keep only one.

    Force synchronization,

    Then, double click on the last available appointment, and verify if it's tracked in CRM, if it's tracked you will see Untrack button like this :

    So click on it, Save appointment and force synchronization.

    great anwser. Maybe i explained my problem wrong. If i have a recurring appointment and outlook reminds me of that everything is fine. But somehow outlook keeps reminding me of appointments even if i set them to cancelled or completed in outlook. I do want outlook th remind me about the upcoming ones again. but if i set one to completed or cancelled i dont want outlook to remind me for that specific day. You know what i mean?

    I believe I'm having the same issue as you and have not found any solution thus far. A recurring appointment created in Outlook and tracked in CRM will copiously keep popping up reminders even when the appointment has already occurred, has been marked complete and synchronized with CRM. It drives everyone crazy because all the recipients get the same reminder. 

    We asked the sender to update the recurring appointment and turn off reminders (set reminders to 'None'). I will post again if that handles it but I don't believe this is how the CRM Outlook client should behave at all.

    When synchronizing recurring Appointments from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Client for Outlook in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, users receive frequent reminder notifications even if the reminder is dismissed.

     

    We are still running UR17 on our servers so we couldnt verify if it works with ur18.

     

    What UR are you on? Please tell me if you plan to install UR18.

    We are actually on CRM 2013 Online. I've heard of several "fixes" for CRM 2011 that reappeared in CRM 2013 so maybe this is one of those?

    Thomas,

    I had a bit of a breakthrough in my troubleshooting. The appointments having this issue in CRM 2013 are Lync Meeting appointments. It appears that CRM has a hard time managing reminders for these types of appointments. Any other appointments with reminders work as expected (reminders work for when they are set for) except for Lync Meetings.

    I'm having the same issue as you with Skype/Lync appointments and have not found any solution this far.

    We are using CRM 2015. Does anyone solved this problem?
