The default Email address for the company to send to is on the customer and vendor card. but this is not the email address I need to use. where is the best place to setup the alternative email address?  we want to auto send purchase orders for example but to specific sales people at the vendor.

You need to setup the email address on the SalesPerson/Purchaser and use that for sending emails.

Thanks, think you miss understood, I want to send emails to my vendor (purchase orders) but I don't want to use the default on the vendor card, the emails will be auto sent to the vendors once the order is approved, reports seem to use the email on the vendor card only but I have a multitude of people (vendor contacts) that I want and can sent the order to but no where that I can find to setup a scenario like that.. the same situation applies to sales invoices and statements. I can send an email to unlimited people, I need a place in nav to setup these people per document/report and hook that up to job que.

    Hi Phillip,

On the Customer Card, and the Vendor Card, you will find an action item on the ribbon called "Document Layouts" (by default, it does not appear on the list page for Customers or Vendors; just the Card page... and it may not be on the home tab of the ribbon; look under the navigate tab of the ribbon).

On the Document Layout page for a Customer/Vendor, you can enter the recipient's e-mail address for a certain Usage type (such as Quote, Invoice, Order Confirmation, etc.), and you can also select which Report ID and Custom Layout to use for each usage type). This way, you can control who gets quotes, who gets invoices, etc. by default.

I can't remember if this feature was added in NAV 2017, or if it was available in NAV 2016.

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"
