Management Reporter slow?

Anybody notice that Management Reporter takes a lot longer to generate reports than FRx? It varies depending on the report, but the one I just checked took 4 times longer (44 seconds vs. 11 seconds).

I had one report that took a couple of minutes to finish, as opposed to about 20 seconds in FRx. I checked the server & didn't see any locks or anything obvious that would have explained why it was so much slower.

I was curious to see if anyone else has noticed this difference.

    There are some performance issues with MR and we are working on correcting them. There are some things that will slow down MR.

    - If they are using AA, it will be slower.

    - If they have the User Defined options checked in the company setup, it will be slower.

    - We have seen problems if there are a number of calculation in the report.  The calculations are handled in the MR application and not in SQL.  What we have seen in the past is that SQL will gather the requested data quickly but then the MR app gets stuck running calculations.  

    The next hotfix should address some performance issues.  Dev is working on performance so each service pack and hotfix should help.

    Yes, I have heard the same thing from many customers.  Have you applied Feature Pack 1?  I did here MS worked some on improving performance and that may help.
