Opportunity Tracking throughout the year

Posted on by 575

Hi guys

I have a client who is looking to track the position of a group of records throughout the 52 weeks of the year. Basically we have a custom entity (works a bit like Opportunities) and there is an optionset field called Actual Status. This field has several options available (Lead, Enquiry, Presentation, Meeting, Signed, Closed) and we need a way of tracking how many records were at each status at the end of week 1, how many at the end of week 2, etc. all the way to week 52.

So in Excel this would be 6 rows (one each for Lead, Enquiry, Presentation, Meeting, Signed and Closed) and 52 columns (weeks 01 - 52). Each week we would update each cell to be the total number of Leads, etc.

Seems a bit like a stats entity would be ideal for this but not sure if there is something out there for this? Something that could use Views to populate itself with the data required perhaps?

Just curious if anyone has anything in CRM that could do this rather than us telling the client that they will manually need to run a report to update another report (which is a bit of a PITA). I'm aware we could use North 52 for part of this but the client doesn't have the finance to afford this tool unfortunately.

Any report advice appreciated.

Thanx

Steven
