Displaying Dimensions in a Trial Balance

Hi:

I know how to filter a G/L Trial Balance based on dimension.

But, so far, I'm seeing very little in terms of displaying dimensions on a trial balance.

Other than modifying the trial balance, is there a way of generating a trial balance that will display dimensions?

Or, at the very least, is there a report that will display dimensions as rows with columns such as Debit, Credit, Document Date, Net Change, and Balance?

Thank you!

John

If you go to char of accounts you can go to balance by dimension:

Here you can select the dimension that you want to show as colums on your report.

The view you get out of this can then be exported to Excel.

In the options you can also select to show the dimension name as column heading instead of the dimension value.

Check this out and see if that can help you.

Hi, I think Account Schedules is also a good choice. But its setting is relatively complicated.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

How about as rows, instead of columns?

If you use G/L Balance by dimension you can chose if you want your dimensions to be rows or columns. You have both options.

You can do the same in an account schedule but it is more work and less in my opinion.

    Thanks, NorthW!

Is there a way to display the account number and dimension on the same row?  What I'm needing is a grouping of amounts by both account number and dimension along with such columns as Debit Amount, Credit Amount, and Net Change.

    John,

I like Accounts Schedules as they offer the ability to complete what you need. However, to make life easier and do the Grouping/Totaling, turn to Jet Reports. This way you can have 1 Excel Tab per Dimension or column, depending on your image, with totals.

    Thanks,

    Steve
