Applying tender concept on Sales Module

Posted on by 873

Hello,

To estimate the cost of a project, we invite different partners/individuals to participate in a tender.

Some of them might be existing “Accounts” in the sales module and some of them might be new companies.

We know that for existing accounts we can directly create an opportunity and link it in a way with the project name and for the new companies we create them as leads.

It is necessary to create 5 opportunity or lead records for "Project A" based on 5 different pricing from the partners/ind. At the end of the day, 1 lead or opportunity record should be qualified as a winner.

Mainly from a reporting perspective if I am assigning those 5 opportunities or leads to the same salesperson and all of them are open or cold leads it should show that this salesperson is owning 1 record instead of 5 because it is the same tender but different prices.

What is the best practice to deal with tenders on the Sales module and from reporting side what customization will be needed on the opportunity/lead to achieving the needed?

I thought about creating the tenders as Lead even if the customer already exists and upon lead qualification, it will detect if the customer already exists they can select it and the opportunity will be created under this account.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

EBMRay

    Hi EBMRay,

Maybe you can create custom entities for the tender concept.

1.Create one custom entity named 'tender'.

2.Create another custom entity named 'tender line':

    --build N:1 relationship with tender.

    --build N:1 relationship with Lead.

3.Create 'tender line' records for these 5 leads in the one tender record.

4.Assign the tender not 5 leads to the salesperson.
