Open a new Opportunity without creating previously a Lead?

Hello,

I often deal with situations where I know I am dealing with a real opportunity, but I wonder if I need to first create a Lead that I automatically qualify to start working on the Opportunity, or I can open a new Opportunity directly without starting with a Lead. What is the best practice?

    Hi partner,

Qualify a Lead to Opportunity will execute the following steps.

1.Create a new account from field "Company".

2.Create a new contact from field "First Name" and "Last Name".

3.Create a new opportunity from field "topic".

Since you said that you have a real opportunity now, you could refer to the suggestions below.

1.If this account is a new account who was not in D365 before, you could start your work from a new lead.

2.If this account is existed in D365, you could start your workf from a new opportunity directly.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards,

    Leo

    Hi THIELMANN,

You can achieve more consistent sales interactions by following the sales process as it takes you through each stage, from creating a lead to closing the sale.

The ideal option is to qualify a lead to an opportunity but you may alternatively create a new opportunity on the command bar by selecting + New. This article contains more information on creating and editing opportunities.
