Deleted AD user, Disabled CRM user: Regaining access to Disabled Records

I inherited an on-premise Dynamics environment.
An employee left the company.  Their AD account was deleted.
How do I regain access to the CRM records?  I've seen vague references to creating a new AD account and relinking CRM and AD, but nothing concise.
Can someone help, please?

Which records do you mean? You can open the disabled user record and reassign all records he owns through the ribbon button.
