Impact of enabling Expected Cost Posting On Open Entries

Hi All

That are the considerations for enabling expected cost posting after the system has transactions. Below is the warning I receive:

If you enable the Expected Cost Posting to G/L, the program must update table Post Value Entry to G/L.This can take several hours. Do you really want to change the Expected Cost Posting to G/L?

We can have open PO receipts and Sales Shipments

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

Best option for such new feature enabling would be to test them out in Sandbox (test, UAT) environment. There You can monitor the time needed for this and the impact on GL.

I would say the the time this process takes is relevant to the amount of Received (shipped) not invoiced Orders for purchase and sales part. And in case You use also assembly/production modules, then on how many items have been assembled/produced but orders are not yet finished.

    Hi Anita,

Adding functional detail to Kaspars answer

This option is used when there is delay between goods receiving and invoicing. So until we actually get the invoice we use this option to post the value of the inventory to Interim accounts. When items are actually invoiced then amount from interim accounts is reversed and actual Invoice amount is moved to inventory accounts.
