File Transfer not working?

Does anyone know if the Microsoft File Transfer is working?  My coworkers & I have been trying to download both the Year End Update and the GP2015 install media, and the "File Transfer Manager" never pops up.  No error message, it just never appears.  I've definitely downloaded materials on this laptop previously, with no problems.

I tried both the CustomerSource site & the PartnerSource site.  I get to the screen that says "Microsoft Dynamics File Exchange System - Your download will begin momentarily."  That's where it stops.

Let me know if you've been having the same trouble, or if it's just me!  Thanks!

    Hello Lyn Barr

Hope you are doing just well

I believe this is related to the browser, have you tried to download the files using Internet Explorer ?

I just spoke to Microsoft support and it is actually due to a new version of File Transfer Manager that needs to be installed. Normally you would get a prompt to download and install the new version but for some reason the pop-up prompt is not working.

I have a link to download the update manually. I will post it here shortly, once I test and verify it resolves the issue.

Thanks for your quick reply! I hope you have a good weekend!

    Hi, Mahmoud!

The manual download didn't work, either, but I am going to keep working with Microsoft to resolve the problem. Once I have a resolution, I'll post it here, in case it's helpful to anyone else.

    Have a good weekend,

    Lyn

I got this fixed.  In Internet Explorer, I had to click the gear icon in the top-right, and then choose F12 Developer Tools.

Then, I had to select "Emulation" and change my "Document mode" to either 8 or 9 (apparently, both 8 & 9 are acceptable choices).

IE does not appear to keep that setting, so once I made that selection, without closing/reopening IE, I went to PartnerSource & downloaded my file.  It worked just fine!

    Lyn,

I had the same issue in IE 11 until I added microsoft.com to the list under Compatibility View. Then it started working just fine. Not sure if the net result is the same as the change you made, but this setting does get saved, so might be worth a try.

That did seem to do the trick, Victoria, thanks!

This is not working for me in IE.

I have tried changing the Document mode to 8 and to 0 with the Downloads page open and without it open. With the File Transfer page open, and before I open it. Nothing is working.

It stops in the Debugger at "Object doesn't support property or method "get ElementsByClassName"

Try Victoria's suggestion of adding the site to your Compatibility Site list.  Click your gear icon in the top-right, and choose "compatibility view settings," then add the site.  I also have the site in my Trusted Site list, which is located on the Security tab of the Internet Options window.

Adding microsoft.com to the Compatibility View is also not working for me.

Is this a new issue and is Microsoft going to fix this?

We cannot install GP 2010 without this download and we have new employees to set up today.  Our original Install disk for the first time ever is not working - dexterity components won't install, and I'm not sure if that is a coincidence or what.
