When Account is inactive, make the related contacts inactive

Hi,

My requirement is when I make the acount inactive, then all the linked contacts for that account also should be inactive. Here the main reason I wanted this is when I make the account inactive and do a search in global search all the contacts associated with that inactive account pulls up.

Can I do this through a workflow. If so any step sby step screenshots is appreciated.

    Yes, you can do this through a workflow. but to get all related contacts either you need to use some third party unity or need to write your own custom workflow activity, which will get child contacts and will change status of records.
