Handling sensitive data

With an internal development team working on AX, has anyone come up with any techniques for dealing with sensitive data?

For example, is there a way of denying System Administrators access to salary and other sensitive HR data?

    While there are mechanisms for creating obstacles when a System Administrator member tries to access a module in AX, like creating restriction access rules, it will still be possible for such a developer/user to tear down these obstacles and gain access. So for a security measure it probably won't be very safe.

    If a developer or consultant is unable to handle the responsibility in a proper manner, then he/she should not have that responsibility altogether.

    Developers should be granted access to a database without real sensitive data if they can't be trusted. :-)

    As there is no technical possibility to block data out of sight of system admins I would recommend to keep them out of the "live environment" as a system admin role.

    When you copy the data from a production environment to their environment I would scramble the data with a predefined script.

    But as Tommy indicated, someone from the tech. department will have access to the data, he/she should be able to live with that and act likewise.
